THE C&E INTERVIEW: JO BOZARTH

It seems kind of crazy that we haven't already done a C&E Interview with Eros herself, the lovely and talented Jo Bozarth. Jo is not only one of the stars of the show, but she was also one of the earliest people involved in its creation.  C&E simply wouldn't exist as we know it, if Jo hadn't been the inspiration behind making Eros female... and if Jo hadn't then made her such a fun, complex and interesting character.

So today, with our first story-arc coming to a close on it's new, ad-free, home of JTS.TV, it seemed like a good idea to finally rectify that situation.  After the jump, learn when she decided she would be an actress, how she thinks Eros changed over the course of Season 1, and how she would have accepted her Indie Intertube Award for best acress in a comedy if she'd been able to do so live.

THE C&E INTERVIEW: JOSH HEINE

When you make a show where the main character’s name is in its very title, it’s a pretty good bet that whoever you cast in that role is going to be a big part of your life.  That has certainly been the case with C&E, and Josh Heine.  Lucky for me, Josh is not only an amazingly talented actor, but he’s also been an extremely great collaborator.

I’ve actually known Josh since we were both at NYU, but unlike some of the other cast members, we’d lost touch for several years before reconnecting.  I guess the fates had a hand in putting us both in the right place at the right time to be able to team up on C&E.  In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought it’d be cool to revive our semi regular C&E Interview feature so we could catch up with Josh.   After the jump, get his take on the show, learn why he wanted to become and actor, and find out how he would accepted an award or best actor.

Jo Bozarth WINS "Best Actress in a Comedy" at the 2nd Annual Indie Intertube Awards

We're thrilled to announce that Eros herself, Jo Bozarth, was honored this past Sunday, March 11th 2012 with the Indie Intertube Award for "Best Actress in a Comedy"

For those that don't know, Indie Intertube is a twice weekly (radio podcast on Wednesday and Video cast on Sunday) devoted to covering all that's hot and streaming in the world of independent online content.

C&E was nominated for 5 Indie Intertube Awards this year:

  • "Best Dramedy"
  • "Best Actor in a Comedy" - Josh Heine
  • "Best Actress in a Comedy" - Jo Bozarth
  • "Best Additional Content"
  • "Smexiest Actress" (smart+sexy = smexy) - Also, Jo Bozarth.

Jo's win, in addition to being well deserved (Sure we're biased, but we think it's true), is even more exciting since she beat out an amazingly talented field of nominees including Emma Caulfield (Bandwagon, Buffy), Kelsey Robinson (GirlParts),  Julie Ann Emery (Then We Got Help), Joanna Gaskell (Standard Action), Renee Olbert (Once You Leave) and last year's winner Stacy McQueen of Pretty.

You can see the full list of winners at IndieIntertube.tv as well as a full list of the nominees.

Thanks so much to everyone who watched along with us and sent us their support and congratulations.

And of course, thank you to April and Amanda of Indie Intertube--for honoring Jo's work, C&E, and for all they do for indie creators.

THE C&E INTERVIEW: BRADFORD ANDERSON

On december 19th the fine folks at We Love Soaps announced the nominees for their 3rd annual Indie Soap Awards.  We were thrilled to find out that our own Bradford Anderson was nominated in the "Best Guest Appearance (comedy)" category for his portrayal of Achilles in episodes 7-9.

Most C&E fans know that Bradford and I have been friends since freshman year at NYU.  In fact, he's the only person, that's been attached to the project longer than our original core crew (Andy, Jo Bozarth, Erin Wilson, and Jefferson).  I first came up with the concept and wrote the initial treatment while living with Bradford in NYC!  So, as you can imagine, I was really happy that he's getting some much deserved recognition for his performance. And so in honor of his nomination, and hopefully win, at the Indie Soap Awards we thought it'd be a great oppurtunity to chat with Brad about C&E, his training as an actor, and all the other projects on his plate.

Check out our interview after the jump!

Post-IAWTV Wrap up

Photo by Brenda WhiteWell, C&E fans, Avi and Jo are back in L.A. from Vegas and the 1st annual IAWTV Awards.

It was wonderful experience.  Sure we would have liked to take home one of those golden representations of the connected tubes that make up the Internet (the award still has no official name yet... any ideas) but the truth is, it really WAS an honor to be nominated.  We were in some amazing company, and it's exciting to have been a part of what we truly hope is the beginning of the next stage of evolution for Web Series.  We got to meet some dear friends and colleagues off-line for the first time, and we made many more.

And now, all there is to say, before getting back to business as usual around C&E HQ, is thank you.

Thank you IAWTV for recognizing C&E alongside some our own favorite shows.  Thank you for putting on a great event, that was fun, educational (the Education track rocked) and brought together a lot of amazing people.

And thank you, our fans! You have become part of our family and it meant so much to us have you cheering us on throughout the nomination process, right up to the announcement of the award in our category.

We hope those of you that watched at home enjoyed the show, and that you came away with soom cool new shows to check out.
