Avi, Josh & Jo Talk Love Stories on the Web on Web Series Watch

On February 27th, Web Series Watch hosts, Cindy Marie Jenkins and Patty Jean Robinson welcomed myself, Josh, Jo and fellow web creators Darren Chadwick (The Bloody Mary Show), Otessa Ghadar (Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden) and Caryn C. Hayes (Breaking Point) to talk about telling love stories on the web.

Livestreamed and recorded via Google Hangout, the conversation was part of the CREATORS WATCH spin off series of Web Series Watch, a review show dedicated to helping viewers navigate the wild west of teh web series world.  During the 46 minute show we talked about the freedom of the web, telling different kinds of love stories, bad 90's flannel, trained monkeys, and exploding queens.  It was awesome.  Check it out below.

THE C&E INTERVIEW: JOSH HEINE

When you make a show where the main character’s name is in its very title, it’s a pretty good bet that whoever you cast in that role is going to be a big part of your life.  That has certainly been the case with C&E, and Josh Heine.  Lucky for me, Josh is not only an amazingly talented actor, but he’s also been an extremely great collaborator.

I’ve actually known Josh since we were both at NYU, but unlike some of the other cast members, we’d lost touch for several years before reconnecting.  I guess the fates had a hand in putting us both in the right place at the right time to be able to team up on C&E.  In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought it’d be cool to revive our semi regular C&E Interview feature so we could catch up with Josh.   After the jump, get his take on the show, learn why he wanted to become and actor, and find out how he would accepted an award or best actor.

The C&E INTERVIEW: Kiera Anderson (Jo/Josephine)

Today we're screening the Short Film Version of THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF CUPID AND EROS at the 2011 Valley Film Festival.  Andy and I have already shared stories about how C&E morphed from its original short film concept into the web series we all know and love, but we also thought it'd be a fun excuse to catch up with some of the people behind the show and our fellow festival-mates.

First up, the lovely and talented Kiera Anderson who plays Cupid's object of desire in our first story arc.

One of the great things about being an independent creator is that I get to cast and write for the ridiculously talented people I'm fortunate enough to call friends.  In a lot of cases I write with a specific actor in mind, but the role of Josephine was the rare exception where I really wasn't sure who I was going to ask.  It was actually our very own Eros, Jo Bozarth, who suggested our good friend Kiera. As soon as she did I knew the role had been written for her all along.  I was just lucky she said yes.

Kiera took time out from her most important role, mother to an awesome little lady name Juna Meredith Anderson to answer some questions via email.

See what she's been up to and what her experience on C&E was like after the jump.

THE C&E INTERVIEW: Ashley Cozine Producer/Actor "Dessert and Suicicde"

When C&E screens at the Valley Film Fest today it will be my second time screening at the festival.  We're part of a program of VFF alumns and I was thrilled when I found out that included Ashley Cozine and her film DESSERT AND SUICIDE.

Ashley is an actress, filmmaker, and all around creative type currently based out of the Seattle area.  Her work has been featured at festivals from L.A. to Traverse City and most recently her short BY THE NUMBERS and a feature in which she starred, A PERFECT LIFE werre given international distribution.

Ashley and I met in NYC (she's a graduate of The Tisch Undergrad Acting Program) through our mutual connection to an organization we were both involved in called the Tisch Talent Guild.  While we've never technically worked together she's a creator whose input and opinon I really respect and value.

In fact, C&E owes a lot to her.  We did our first reading of the short film script at a reading group that Ashley and her housemates put on in Burbank, and it was Ashley who tipped me off to the NYU Web Series Showcase that would end up serving as our launchpad.  So it seemed only fitting to highlight her here as we get psyched up for our screening this evening.
