IAWTV, THE PICKS: "Best Comedy" and Wrap Up

Well, the moment of truth is almost upon us. Tomorrow, Wednesday December 14th at 10 AM PST the nominees for the 1st annual IAWTV awards will be announced live. Regardless of whether or not we find ourselves fortunate enough to have scored a nomination (or two?), we've had a great time using this as an excuse to revisit our first season and share some of our thought process with you all. And of course it's been great to hear what YOU have to say, and which episodes you feel are our best. We have one last category left, “Best Comedy” but we thought we'd do something a bit different this week. Instead of focusing on the episode we picked for that category we thought we'd compile a list of some of the stuff we haven't been able to showcase yet.

So check out some of our favorite moments of Season 1 after the jump, and then make sure to watch along with us tomorrow as the nominations are announced live by Shira Lazar and Ethan Newberry at the What's Trending Studios. You can watch along with us here: http://bit.ly/wtchill

IAWTV, THE PICKS: "BEST MALE PERFORMANCE"

We're almost to the end here folks. Last friday the nomination process came to a close and now all we can do is wait for the folks at What's Trending to announce the nominees live on December 14th. But even though the voting has passed we still have a few picks to discuss and some praises to sing.

Last week we talked about the episode we thought highlighted the talent of Jo Bozarth and today it's time for her guy friday to get some much deserved kudos. Yep, it's time to talk about Cupid himself, Josh Heine.

Our pick, after the jump.

IAWTV, THE PICKS: "Best Female Performance"

As we enter a month that will be full of celebrations with those we love, it is only fitting that we begin the month by celebrating our pick for the IAWTV Best Female Peformance category episode for one of the characters we've loved from the very beginning, Jo Bozarth as Eros.  Once it was decided that Eros would be female, Avi wrote the character with Jo in mind.   Embodying someone as unique and strong as Eros was a natural fit for Jo and with the completion of Season 1, it is aparent that this character was meant for her.

Find out which episode we felt showcases Jo's acting talents after the jump.

IAWTV, THE PICKS: "Best Cinematography"

We hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! Andy and Avi certainly did. There was much food, family, friends, and yes the occasional tweet of gratitude to all of you who've been so much a part of the success of C&E. Despite being written post Thanksgiving, this week's blog on our IAWTV submissions is no less applicable to the holiday. This week we talk about cinematography and the contribution of one of the people who was there right at the beginning. Our DP extraordinaire Jefferson Loftfiled.

See which episode we felt highlighted Jefferson's work best after the jump.

IAWTV Awards, The Picks: "Best Editing"

This Thanksgiving week it's only fitting that we talk about a category that highlights allows us to give thanks to one of the best friends a director and producer can have when working on an indie production: the Editor.

In our case, that editor is Matthew Smith... the guy whose job over 9 episodes of C&E and multiple other projects has been to help us look good, while occasionally saving us from our worst impulses.

Our pick to submit for "Best Editing" and the reasons why after the jump.

IAWTV AWARDS, THE PICKS: "Best Design"

We're back with another blog about the episodes we chose to submit to the IAWTV awards!

Today we take a look at the "Best Design" category (The IAWTV, like many other awards combine Art Direction, Production Design and Set Decoration into one category). We have an amazing design team on C&E led by Production Designer Vicky Chan and her partner in the war against lame sets, Art Director Emily Adams.

After the jump, find out what episode we picked, what sorts of ridiculous things Avi asked Vicky to do with a pea sized budget, and how a fake baby kept everyone from ever getting too stressed on set.

IAWTV Awards, The Picks: "Best Supplemental Content"

The voting period for the 1st annual International Academy of Web Television awards is in full swing! Members of the IAWTV are currently combing through a ton of submissions in over 30 categories, all with an eye towards nominating the best of the best in original scripted and non-scripted web series. A while back we asked you guys, the C&E fans to help us decide what episodes best represented the categories we were planning on submitting to. Now, with the submissions in, we thought it might be a neat idea to share some thoughts on why we chose each the specific episodes we did and how they lined up with what you all thought.

Today we start with "Best Supplemental Content"  Find out what our pick was, why Andy and Avi each thought it was the right one, and how it lined up with yours, after the jump.
